Donald Trump remains "optimistic" he can strike a deal - but he is growing "increasingly frustrated" with Ukrainian President and Russian President Vladimir Putin, the White House said. Speaking , to last between May 8 and 11, White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt also said: "I understand Vladimir Putin this morning offered a temporary ceasefire.

"The president has made it clear he wants to see a permanent ceasefire first to stop the killing and stop the bloodshed." This comes after Russia suffered a huge attack on its deadly missile infrastructure near the border. A huge drone strike hit the Kremiy EL plant in the border region of Bryansk, with reports of a "major fire" at the unit - which is the site of a microelectronicts factory supplying components for the Russian Army's deadly missiles and kamikaze drones. Governor Alexander Bogomaz admitted that Zelensky's troops carried out a "powerful attack" which consisted of 15 explosions, while one civilian was killed in the blast. One woman was also injured during the attack 68 miles from the Ukraine border.
