New Delhi: Among the major countries in the world India is the fastest-growing economy. However if smaller countries are also included it is estimated that the economies of 15 countries will grow faster than Indias this year. Some of these countries are such that its not easy to find their names on the map. According to the IMF Indias economy is expected to grow at a rate of 6.2 percent this year. India is the fifth-largest economy in the world preceded by the United States China Germany and Japan. According to the IMF South Sudans economy is expected to grow the fastest this year. South Sudan separated from Sudan a few years ago. The countrys economy is estimated to grow at a rate of 27.2% this year. Following that Guyana is next. The GDP of this Caribbean country could grow at a rate of 14.4%. A significant oil reserve was discovered in Guyana a few years ago which has led to a considerable boost in the countrys economy. The African country Libya (13.7%) ranks third. Who is ahead of India? Senegals economy is expected to grow at a rate of 9.3% this year. Following that are Palau (8.5%) Sudan (8.3%) Uganda (7.5%) Niger (7.3%) Macau (7.3%) Bhutan (7.2%) Mongolia (7%) Zambia (6.6%) Benin (6.5%) Ethiopia (6.5%) and Rwanda (6.5%). Among the 15 countries growing faster than India 10 are African countries.
