The dancing pair opened up about juggling their work life with parenting their young daughter Lyra.

Aljaz, who took a step back from the glitzy floors of Strictly in 2022 just before becoming a father, gushed about his love for being a stay-at-home dad.

He said: "I love it! It's like my favourite thing now, Strictly profession? No, stay at home dad is first!"

Yet, even as Aljaz cherished his daddy duties, Ed noted he made a dazzling return to flagship dance show a year later, which resulted in Janette holding down the fort in Cheshire with little Lyra as he rehearsed in London.

Ed pointed out: "That's where Lyra started off her life (Cheshire) but it ended up becoming just too hard to commute between the North West."

Janette agreed as she commented: "You both know the schedule for Strictly is quite intense.

"We don't really know Aljaz' schedule at all until basically the night before really of what the day is going to be like.

"So I kept saying to my friends, I felt a little bit like a single mum those few months. Because I had to kind of assume Aljaz would not be around, so it was just me and Lyra."

The dancing star candidly shared that constantly shuttling Lyra to and fro didn't seem fair, reports

She remarked: "We didn't get to spend a lot of time with Aljaz last series, so we've moved back down closer to London, which, I think, has been a really great decision for us as a family."

Janette expressed to the GMB hosts that her daughter's wellbeing is their top priority, ensuring her utmost comfort.

In a recent announcement, Aljaz will make his return to BBC Strictly Come Dancing as one of the professional dancers when the show returns to screens in September this year.

The line-up of returning stars includes dance floor favourites Dianne Buswell, Nadiya Bychkova, Amy Dowden, Karen Hauer, Katya Jones, Neil Jones, Nikita Kuzmin, and Gorka Marquez.

Also joining the list for another dazzling series are Luba Mushtuk, Jowita Przystal, Johannes Radebe, Kai Widdrington, Nancy Xu, Carlos Gu, Lauren Oakley, Michelle Tsiakkas, and newcomer Vito Coppola.
