“Although the JMM Bihar unit has suggested 16 seats, we are concentrating on 12 seats and will make our claim to the Mahagathbandhan,” said JMM Central Spokesperson Manoj Pandey. Party activists have already started preparing for the following 12 Assembly seats: Banka, Thakurganj, Rupauli, Rampur, Banamkhani, Jamalpur, Pirpainti, Tarapur, Katoria, Manihari, Jhajha, and Chakai.

Pandey said that talks with the alliance partners within the INIDIA bloc would be held before a final decision is reached. According to Pandey, the assertion is supported by a poll that indicates the party has the potential to influence over three dozen seats.

Part sources claim that substantial talks with other coalition partners would be undertaken about the matter of running for office in Bihar. The party will make a claim in accordance with its belief that JMM has a sizable mass base in Bihar.

Another party official said, “The party is also hopeful that the Mahagathbandhan’s allies will pay heed to our claims and act accordingly.”

Notably, JMM has already indicated that it would want to challenge the polls.
