In India, the Premier League has a long history of interacting with the country’s millions of ardent supporters and football communities. Since 2007, the League has supported the growth of the community football workforce at the grassroots level by implementing its Premier Skills program in collaboration with the British Council.

124,000 youth have benefited from the program’s delivery in more than 18 Indian states over the last 18 years, which has supported more than 7,300 coaches, referees, and educators.

Since 2014, the Premier League and the Indian Super League (ISL) have collaborated extensively at the highest level. During this time, the Premier League has shared information and experience in all facets of the top game, including youth, coach and referee development, governance, and more.

Through improved cooperation with football authorities and regulatory organizations, the Premier League India office will further enhance the League’s dedication to fostering the growth of football across India at both the top and grassroots levels. Working closely with JioStar, the League’s longtime broadcast partner, the office will also concentrate on developing new avenues for direct fan engagement in the area via partnership activities and events.

“We and our clubs have a fantastic and knowledgeable fanbase in India, and we know football continues to grow in popularity,” said Premier League Chief Executive Richard Masters. We take pride in our 18-year history of working to provide community football programs in India, as well as our more recent collaboration with the Indian Super League.

“The Premier League has reached a major milestone with the opening of its office. As we expand on our current efforts to find new methods to improve our relationships with JioStar, fans, and other partners, it will enable us to function more efficiently locally. We’re excited about the prospects it will bring to the area.”

The Next Gen Cup is a premier international youth competition that the Premier League started in 2019 in partnership with the ISL and Reliance Foundation to foster the growth of young talent. ISL young teams will compete against Premier League U19 sides in the sixth iteration of the competition, which will be held in Mumbai in May 2025.

In order to combat Premier League content piracy and assist broadcast partners, the Premier League launched its first overseas office in Singapore in 2019.

Working together with its longtime broadcast partner NBC Sports, the League established an office in New York in July 2023 to further expand fan interaction options in the US.

The Premier League announced in October 2024 that it will create an office in Beijing to further expand its efforts in the area to interact with partners and fans and assist in the local growth of the game.
