Smartphones have become an important part of our lives today. From shopping to banking, they are making many of our tasks easier, but a big problem with them is distraction. Repeated phone calls and notifications while working, studying or driving can be very distracting. In such a situation, putting the phone on airplane mode is not always the right option, because it can completely cut you off from the world. The solution to this problem is "Do Not Disturb" (DND) mode.
DND mode allows you to silence notifications of apps and mute unwanted calls, so that you can do your important work without any interruption. In this, you can allow notifications from selected apps and contacts. Once you turn on DND, notifications will keep coming but there will be no sound. If repeated calls and notifications are bothering you, then these tips will be very useful for you...
How to set DND mode on Android devices?
The steps may vary slightly for different brands, but the basic setup is the same.
Open your phone's Settings.
Type Do Not Disturb or DND in the search bar.
In some phones, it is also available in the Quick Settings Panel.
Turn on DND mode and you will get the option to schedule and customize it.
Click on Schedule, then tap the (+) icon to select activities like working, sleeping, studying, etc.
You can also set DND timings at your convenience.
You can turn on the "Repeated Calls" option. This will not silence calls if someone calls you repeatedly within 3 minutes. This is very useful in emergencies.
How to set DND mode on iPhone?
Open Control Center from the top or bottom of the screen (depending on your iPhone model).
Tap Focus Mode and then select the DND icon. From here, you can turn it on or off.
You can also schedule DND, just like in Android. The purpose and time for DND can also be customized for iPhone.
You can set an Emergency Bypass for a contact so that calls from that person will also be allowed in DND mode.
