A 24-year-old batsman lauded his teams new captain citing the current IPL season as his most successful yet and praising the captains leadership. Prabhsimran Singh talked to the media on Star Sports Press Room with Punjab Kings for Race to Playoffs. Prabhsimran Singh praised Shreyas Iyers captaincy calling him the best hes played under. He highlighted Iyers extensive experience as both a batsman and captain noting his consistently effective decision-making. Prabhsimran Singh noted that Shreyas Iyers supportive leadership is evident in his encouragement of struggling teammates boosting their morale and confidence. After leading Kolkata Knight Riders to the IPL final in the previous year Shreyas Iyers unexpected release by the franchise before the 2025 mega-auction surprised many. He subsequently became the second-highest paid player in IPL history signed by Punjab Kings for ₹26.75 crore. Currently PBKS ranks fifth on the points table with 11 points in hand with the help of five victories in nine games.
