The future is now: UG programmes in the spotlight

As the employment landscape continues to evolve, so do the aspirations of students seeking undergraduate programmes that align with global trends and market needs. At the show this year, many leading universities are showcasing a wide spectrum of job-focussed and future-trending undergraduate courses that are already capturing the attention of prospective students across the region.

Among the standout institutions are Sigmund Freud Private University (SFU), which is drawing interest for its strong focus on mental health and therapy sciences - fields that are witnessing growing demand worldwide.

"We are offering bachelor programs in Psychotherapy Science and Psychology (both also in English language) as well as Medicine, Dentistry and Law (all in German)," a university spokesperson shared. "The focus for GETEX will thus be on Psychotherapy Science and Psychology since they are offered in an international format."

With its international outlook and specialisation in psychotherapy education, SFU is becoming a top choice for students who value both academic excellence and global accessibility.

"For students speaking German or willing to learn the language, usually Medicine is the most requested programme, but again that will most likely be different in the cosmopolitan setting of GETEX," the spokesperson added.

What truly sets SFU apart is its commitment to fostering cultural awareness and inclusivity within its international programmes.

“SFU has dedicated international programmes that go beyond simply English being the language of instruction,” the spokesperson noted.

“Since culture as such plays a significant role in the study programs in Psychotherapy Science and Psychology, awareness and expression of both universal values and individual identity are fostered as the prerequisite to learn not only together but from one another. SFU also has a very active student board that organises events especially for international students to help them orient themselves in Vienna and also with administrative issues.”

RIT Dubai is riding the wave of digital innovation with a suite of programmes that resonate with the tech-savvy generation.

“Lately, there has been a notable rise in interest in Computing Security and Computing and Information Technologies, as students increasingly seek careers in high-demand, tech-forward fields,” shared a university representative.

But it’s not all about coding and networks. Creative minds are also finding their niche in the university’s New Media Design program. “Our new New Media Design programme has also been gaining momentum; it empowers students to create and design technological platforms while building strong foundations in media, design, graphics, and interactive experiences.”

“Global Business Management and Psychology continue to attract strong interest due to the evolving nature of global economies and human behaviour - both offering broad, impactful career possibilities,” said the spokesperson. “And of course, our engineering programmes remain a cornerstone of RIT’s identity, offering exceptional education rooted in innovation, problem-solving, and real-world application.”
