Hyderabad: The Padma Bhushan awards presented in New Delhi on Monday turned into a moment of pride for South Indian cinema. Nandamuri Balakrishna and Ajith Kumar, two of the biggest names in the Telugu and Tamil industries, were among the recipients of the country’s third-highest civilian award. The ceremony, held at Rashtrapati Bhavan, was graced by President Droupadi Murmu, awardees’ families and other dignitaries.

Balakrishna’s contribution to Telugu cinema, especially through mythological and historical films, has spanned decades. Ajith Kumar, on the other hand, has charmed audiences across languages with his powerful roles and off-screen persona, including his achievements in motorsports.

As fans flooded social media with celebratory posts, one special tribute stood out. Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and actor Pawan Kalyan joined the well-wishers late Monday night, releasing two heartfelt messages — one in Telugu and another in Tamil.

In his note for Balakrishna, Pawan praised his cinematic legacy and consistent efforts in social service. He called Balakrishna a true force in films and public life.

For Ajith, Pawan’s Tamil message acknowledged the actor’s wide range, mass appeal, and unique journey that includes success not only on-screen but also on racing tracks.

Pawan’s dual-language gesture struck a chord with fans of both stars and added a personal touch to the celebrations.
