BHU Phd Admission 2025: The tussle over admission to PhD at Banaras Hindu University (BHU) has now reached UGC. UGC has intervened and put a stay on admission to PhD. UGC has asked BHU not to take any action regarding PhD admission till a decision is taken on the committee's report. According to the report, in a letter sent by UGC to BHU, it has been said that some discrepancies related to admission to PhD have come to its notice. After receiving the letter, BHU also held a high-level meeting.

This is the first time in the history of BHU that UGC has intervened in any admission process in this way. This letter has been received by Acting Vice Chancellor Sanjay Kumar from UGC Secretary Professor Manish R Joshi. It states that it has been decided to constitute a committee to examine the issues related to PhD admission in BHU and ensure compliance with UGC rules.

There has been a ruckus for one and a half months.

The PhD admission process of BHU for the academic session 2024-25 has been surrounded by allegations from the very beginning. First Shivam was admitted after a 20-day protest. After this, Archita Singh was given admission after protesting for seven days. Some students are still protesting for admission. This ruckus over the admin in PhD in BHU has been going on for about one and a half months.

Demand for permanent Vice Chancellor in BHU

The students protesting in BHU say that the reason for the current problems of the university is the non-appointment of a permanent Vice Chancellor. They say that after the death of former Vice Chancellor Justice Girdhar Malviya, grandson of the university's founder Mahamana Pt. Madan Mohan Malviya ji, it has become leaderless.
