A video of the incident quickly went viral, making it one of Weibo’s top trending topics by Tuesday.
Dressed in a long black gown and 15-centimeter high heels, Zhang stumbled while stepping down from the stage. Fellow celebrities Jackie Chan and Wang Yibo, who were ahead of her, rushed back to help her up, according to Their.
Two days later, Zhang was spotted at a high-speed train station in Shandong Province, being pushed in a wheelchair by a staff member.
A passerby shared footage online, commenting: “I ran into Zhang Ziyi at the high-speed railway station. She was sitting in a wheelchair and being pushed by staff… It seems that she fell hard.”

In the video, the actress was seen wearing loose black clothes, a face mask, and sunglasses. Though visibly tired, she appeared composed, without signs of distress, according to The Epoch Times.
Her manager, Ji Lingling, later told Hongxing News that Zhang had gone to the hospital for an X-ray, which revealed no serious injuries.
Fans of the 46-year-old actress flooded social media with messages of concern, highlighting the dangers female celebrities face when wearing high heels during public appearances. “I can’t even stand in heels that high, let alone walk,” one person wrote, while another urged greater caution given her age.
Zhang Ziyi, a celebrated figure in Chinese cinema for over two decades, rose to global fame through films like “Crouching Tiger”, “Hidden Dragon”, “House of Flying Daggers”, “Hero”, “The Grandmaster”, and “Memoirs of a Geisha”. In recent years, she has not been involved in internationally renowned projects.
She divorced singer Wang Feng in 2023 after having two children together, who now live with her.
