A new feature in UPI payment

Under the new features of UPI, the name of the beneficiary will be visible on making a payment. This name will be the same name that is recorded in the records of Core Banking Solutions i.e. CBS. With this new feature, making online payments will become even more secure.

At present, when someone makes an online payment through UPI, he does not see the name that is registered in CBS. Some apps also give people the option to edit the name in the app. At the same time, some apps take the name from the QR code. In such a situation, the name currently visible may be different from the name registered in CBS.

NPCI issued a circular

NPCI issued a circular on 24 April 2025, in which this new rule was told. Under these circulars, this new rule will be applicable to both P2P and P2PM transactions. There is not going to be any change in the method of payment with the new rule. There will be a change only in the way the name is displayed so that the payment can be made secure.
