Vote for your Team of the Season here!
Cast your votes between 23 April (5.00pm CET) and 27 April (7:59pm CET), picking from a total of 42 nominees (five goalkeepers, 12 defenders, 15 midfielders and 10 attackers). The contenders for this year’s EA FC 25 Bundesliga Team of the Season are as follows:
Goalkeepers:
Noah Atubolu (Freiburg)
After a breakout season last year, Atubolu has gone from strength to strength in the Freiburg goal. He even set a new club record between February and March for the most minutes without conceding in the Bundesliga with 609 minutes, surpassing Richard Golz’s previous Freiburg best of 509 minutes.
Oliver Baumann (Hoffenheim)
Baumann has been as reliable as ever in the Hoffenheim goal, even despite the Sinsheimers struggling following last season’s success. He is among the top goalkeepers for saves made this season and is now approaching 500 Bundesliga appearances.
Péter Gulácsi (RB Leipzig)
Like Baumann, Gulácsi has been in the Bundesliga for a number of years and despite now being in his mid-thirties, he is still improving. This season, he has played an important role in Leipzig’s chances of qualifying for the UEFA Champions League with some heroic performances between the sticks.
Nikola Vasilj (St. Pauli)
Despite being part of a relegation battle, St. Pauli have one of the best defences in the league. Key to this is the presence of Vasilj. He has barely put a foot wrong all season and should St. Pauli beat the drop, then Vasilj can take his share of the plaudits.
Robin Zentner (Mainz)
Mainz have been the surprise package this season and they are right in the fight for European football next term. An important part of the 05ers’ success this term can be found in the hands of goalkeeper Zentner, the local favourite who celebrated his 200th appearance for the club with many a spectaular save and a new contract.
Defenders:
Nathaniel Brown (Eintracht Frankfurt)
Brown has been one of the biggest breakthrough prospects of the season. He made his Bundesliga debut on Matchday 8 against Union Berlin and he hasn’t looked back since. Not only is the Germany U21 international highly reliable in defence, he also carries a goal threat in attack.
Alphonso Davies (Bayern Munich)
Davies has been back to his best this season, with his trademark marauding runs forward always proving a threat when Bayern attack. With his lightning speed, Davies is able to cover incredible ground both when going forward and tracking back.
Jeremie Frimpong (Bayer Leverkusen)
Although he looks unlikely to match his sensational output from last season, Frimpong’s importance to Leverkusen’s cause cannot be understated; something which his haul of goal involvements can once again atest to.
Alejandro Grimaldo (Bayer Leverkusen)
Like his teammate on the opposite flank, Grimaldo too has notched several goal contributions this season and he is vital to the way Leverkusen play. His passing and movement are always a danger to opposition defences when he gets forward.
Piero Hincapié (Bayer Leverkusen)
As one of four defenders from Bayer 04 to be nominated, Hincapié’s value to the Werkself cause was highlighted with a contract extension penned in December that ties the Ecuador international to the BayArena until 2029.
Minjae Kim (Bayern Munich)
Bayern’s defence has gone through a number of changes this season due to injuries, but Kim has been a consistent presence in a defence that conceded few chances over the campaign. His pass completion also ranks amongst the best in the league.
Rasmus Kristensen (Eintracht Frankfurt)
Having joined Frankfurt from Leeds United last summer, Kristensen has rapidly become a favourite at the club. A threat when pushing forward, the Dane also loves a tackle; something Eagles’ fans always appreciate.
Maximilian Mittelstädt (VfB Stuttgart)
Time and again, Mittelstädt is showing why he is one of the league’s best defenders, but what makes the Germany international really stand out is his attacking prowess and taste for delivering threatening crosses.
Willi Orbán (RB Leipzig)
Like his countryman Gulácsi, Orbán has become something of a Leipzig veteran. The Hungarian ranks amongst the league’s best for both tackle and passing success and he has also scored several important goals.
Nico Schlotterbeck (Borussia Dortmund)
Hands down one of the league’s – and the Germany national team’s – best defenders. Against Mainz on Matchday 27, Schlotterbeck even displayed some fearsome set-piece ability when providing assists from a couple of corners in a 3-1 BVB win.
Jonathan Tah (Bayer Leverkusen)
After being part of last season’s “Team of the Season”, Tah is hoping to be included once more after another stellar defensive campaign. Like Bayern’s Kim, the 29-year-old ranks amongst the best for tackle and pass success.
Dayot Upamecano (Bayern Munich)
Upamecano is the third Bayern defender represented here and he deservedly earns his spot having formed an excellent centre-back partnership with Kim this season as part of one of the league’s most miserly defences.

Midfielders:
Nadiem Amiri (Mainz)
Amiri’s creativity, game intelligence, and leadership qualities played a key role in Mainz’s storied campaign to date. Outstanding performances throughout the season also led to his return to the Germany set-up for the Nations League matches against Italy.
Tom Bischof (Hoffenheim)
Bischof’s ability to take the ball under pressure and create chances has been vital to some of the positives Hoffenheim will look to take from the season. In fact, the 19-year-old has performed so well that Bayern have already snapped him up for next season.
Ritsu Dōan (Freiburg)
Dōan has been a big part of Freiburg’s push for European football this season, with the tricky winger offering plenty of threat from the right flank. This season, the Japan star’s end product has improved dramatically and he will end the term with double figures for goal involvements.
Vincenzo Grifo (Freiburg)
Grifo has been performing at the highest level for Freiburg for a number of seasons now and this campaign is no different. Like Dōan, the 32-year-old’s goal and assist count for 2024/25 is worthy of note.
Joshua Kimmich (Bayern Munich)
Kimmich is an indispensable player for Bayern thanks, in large part, to his leadership qualities and consistently high on-field performances. His importance to the Bavarians saw the Rotweil native sign a new contract with the record champions that runs until 2029.
Jamal Musiala (Bayern Munich)
Creativity, technique, and goal threat: Musiala offers it all and under coach Vincent Kompany, continues to develop his talents, particularly with his finishing. Despite some injury niggles, Musiala has been one of Bayern’s most influential players in 2024/25.
Paul Nebel (Mainz)
The second of three Mainz midfield options, Nebel operates slightly further forward, looking to create chances for his teammates. That being said, he also has a real eye for the target, with his goals helping to propel Mainz up the table this season.
Michael Olise (Bayern Munich)
The former Crystal Palace man has been a sensation since moving to Bayern in the summer and has slotted into the Bavarians’ attack effortlessly. He’s been one of the first names on the teamsheet all campaign and his goal contributions have been pivotal in Bayern’s strong domestic showing.
Alassane Pléa (Borussia Mönchengladbach)
Pléa is another player who has really upped their output this season and has been one of the stars of Gladbach’s exciting team. On Matchday 26, the Lille-born attacker even netted a hat-trick in Gladbach’s 4-2 win against Werder Bremen.
Kaishu Sano (Mainz)
Sano joined Mainz from Kashima Antlers FC in the summer and settled in quickly. His passing is fantastic, but perhaps most importantly, he covers so much ground for The 05ers, which allows his more expressive teammates to flourish.
Jens Stage (Werder Bremen)
Stage’s hat-trick in the spectacular 4-3 away win against Hoffenheim was a must-see moment, the 28-year-old playing a vital role in dragging his side back from 3-0 down. The Dane’s versatility, tackling ability, and goal threat mark him out as a worthy candidate here.
Angelo Stiller (VfB Stuttgart)
Stiller is almost always at the heart of the matter for Stuttgart. His consistently strong performances at club level led to his first Germany call-up by Julian Nagelsmann last September.
Florian Wirtz (Bayer Leverkusen)
Leverkusen’s very own star boy, Wirtz, has once again shown why he is one of the best young players in the world. Still only 21, Wirtz really can do it all: he is creative, can run with the ball and can finish to boot. Expect to see his name amongst the world’s best for years to come.
Xavi Simons (RB Leipzig)
Despite playing fewer matches due to injury troubles, Xavi has already beaten his goalscoring total from last season. Playing just off Benjamin Šeško and Loïs Openda, the three have formed a formidable strike force that has kept Leipzig in contention for Champions League football next season.
Granit Xhaka (Bayer Leverkusen)
Leverkusen’s midfield general, Xhaka, has proven yet again just how good he is at dictating a game. It’s almost impossible to get the ball off him and he has one of the best passing ranges going. Opposition teams have learnt to press him at their peril.
Forwards:
Mohamed Amoura (Wolfsburg)
Another fresh face in the Bundesliga, Amoura really hit the ground running after joining from Royale Union St. Gilloise. Largely playing slightly off the left, the Algerian’s performance in the Wolves’ 3-1 away win at Bochum – where he provided two assists and won a penalty – was indicative of his energetic style. Hitting double figures for goals scored represents a super return.
Jonathan Burkardt (Mainz)
Burkardt has led the line expertly for Mainz this season and he has the goals to show for it. His striking form also earned him his first call-up to the German national team in October, where he made his debut against Bosnia & Herzegovina.
Hugo Ekitiké (Eintracht Frankfurt)
Ekitiké started this season in the shadow of Omar Marmoush, but since the Egyptian moved to Manchester City in January, the young France forward has become the focal point of an excellent Frankfurt attack. The Frenchman has pace, power and a clinical finishing ability to match.
Serhou Guirassy (Borussia Dortmund)
Guirassy may have changed clubs this season, but his scoring ability certainly hasn’t dwindled at Dortmund. Once more, the Guinean has been in solid scoring form this season, even bagging four in one match against Union Berlin on Matchday 23.
Harry Kane (Bayern Munich)
The football world is running out of superlatives for Kane’s goalscoring ability as he once again looks set to finish as the Bundesliga’s top scorer. The Englishman is incredibly clinical and an absolute dream for Bayern’s dynamic midfield creators.
Tim Kleindienst (Borussia Mönchengladbach)
The former Heidenheim marksman has made the summer switch from the Voith-Arena look seamless and his sparkling form for Gladbach this season has caught the headlines. Scoring a number of important goals during a strong campaign for The Foals, Kleindeinst deservedly earned a Germany senior debut.
Loïs Openda (RB Leipzig)
Alongside Benjamin Šeško, Loïs Openda has helped form one of the league’s most formidable strike duos that are capable of getting the better of even the best defences. Openda’s goals haul may not match the spectacular numbers of last season, but the Belgian’s assists game has improved to make up some of that shortfall.
Patrik Schick (Bayer Leverkusen)
After Victor Boniface suffered an injury mid-season, Schick took the main striker position for Leverkusen and hasn’t looked back since. He’s been one of the league’s most clinical finishers all season, even scoring four goals against Freiburg on Matchday 15.
Considered one of Europe’s most promising young strikers, Šeško’s reputation has gone up another notch with a solid second season in the colours of Die Roten Bullen. Like his strike partner Openda, Šeško’s all-round game has been developing too, with the striker teeing up teammates’ goals at an increasing rate.
Nick Woltemade (VfB Stuttgart)
With his exceptional combination of height (Woltemade stands at 6’6″), technique and in-game intelligence, the 23-year-old often wreaks havoc in opposition areas. The forward’s efficiency in front of goal is particularly admirable, with the Bremen native converting big chances on a regular basis.
