In Kuch Kuch Hota Hai beauties like Kajol and Rani Mukerji shared the screen with Shah Rukh Khan. This trio rocked the box office and the movie turned out to be a blockbuster. Shah Rukh played the character of Rahul and Kajol played the character of Anjali. While Rani was seen in the character of Tina. But the makers first wanted to cast Aishwarya for the role of Tina. However Aishwarya did not show interest in it. Aishwarya had revealed the reason for rejecting Kuch Kuch Hota Hai in an interview. Keeping Tinas character in mind Aishwarya had said that if I had done the film people would have made fun of me. They would have said that Aishwarya is still doing the same work that she used to do during her modeling days. Aishwarya did not like Tinas character with straight hair and wearing mini dresses. Rs 10 crore budget earned Rs... After Aishwarya refused the film fell into Ranis lap and it created history at the box office. It was directed by Karan Johar and produced by Yash Johar. The makers spent Rs 10 crore on this film and its earnings were 9 times more than the budget. Kuch Kuch Hota Hai did a business of around Rs 47 crore in India and Rs 91 crore worldwide.
