Google Pixel 10 PWM can do flickering to reduce eye stress

Google Pixel 10 can finally solve a long -standing problem that some smartphones have been users vocal – PWM flickering. According to the report, Google is working on improving displays that can help reduce eye stress and fatigue caused by OLED screen. The next generation of pixel may include a feature that allows users to adjust the PWM dimming rate, which is a ray of expected to those sensitive to screen flick.

What is really, PWM? Pulse-width modulation is a gloss control method used in OLED display that quickly turns on and turns screen lights. This flickering is so fast that most people do not notice consciously. However, for some sensitive users, this persistent blinking of an eyelid can trigger headaches, fatigue, or even nausea while staying on the screen for a long time.

Although this problem does not affect everyone, it has attracted so much attention in recent years that manufacturers have started reacting to it. Google is allegedly planning to implement Flickr-Riduction Settings in accessibility options of Pixel 10. This will allow users to manually replace or disable the PWM dimming feature.

Another possible approach involves increasing the PWM frequency. Current devices of Google, Apple and Samsung typically work in the 480Hz range from 240Hz. However, some phone manufacturers have pushed it on high frequencies, which has reduced the flicker visibility significantly. If Google Pixel increases the PWM rate in the 10 series, it can make the display more comfortable for sensitive users without renouncing brightness control.

Although Google has not yet made any official announcement about this facility, there are strong indications that it is being considered. A report by Android Central states that Google is aware of these concerns and he can share more information later this year. Although this is not confirmation, it suggests that the tech veteran is taking feedback seriously.

google pixel 10 launch timeline

For launch, Google Pixel 10 is expected to be launched around August 2025, although the company has not confirmed the exact date. However, more details can be revealed during Google I/O 2025, which is scheduled from May 20 to May 21 this year. The event will start with the main speech at PT (10:30 PM IST) by CEO Sundar Pichai at 10 am, followed by developer kenote and technical sessions live streams.

Google I/O can serve as the perfect platform for the company to address PWM flickering, accessibility improvement and other display techniques in Pixel 10.

Currently, users who expect more eye -friendly experiences can remain optimistic – Google may finally prioritize display comfort.
