In partnership with NASA and Woyzer, ISRO is studying the micro -organism 'Tardigrade' in space. Tardigrads are micro -organisms and are known for the ability to survive in extreme conditions. Tardigrades have been on earth for nearly 60 million years and in the near future also they will be able to withstand any major changes in the world's climate. During this experiment, the revival, survival and reproduction of tardigrade will be examined at the international space station.

What kind of research will be done
Axiom Space said that studying about tardigrade can help in future space exploration by understanding their molecular system. Also, new experiments of biotechnology on Earth can be promoted. Union Minister Jitendra Singh said in the past that Shubhanshu Shukla will visit the international space station. The journey will take place four decades after Rakesh Sharma's historic journey to move from Russia's Soyuz spacecraft to space. He said, 'Group Captain Shukla's visit is not just a flight. This is an indication that India is stepping into courage in the new era of space exploration. '
