Yuan Mengmeng, who teaches logic at Huainan Normal University in eastern China’s Anhui Province, gained widespread attention after clips shared by students highlighted her physical similarity to Liu, star of the recent drama “The Tale of Rose.”

“I suddenly became the subject of a most sought-after topic on the internet,” Yuan told local outlet Chao News. “But I do not think I am a doppelgänger for Liu Yifei.”

Students described Yuan as tall and slender with fair skin, sculpted features, and a nose similar to the 37-year-old actress, according to the South China Morning Post. Some admitted they could not help but watch her closely during class. “Our teacher is very pretty. She is like Liu Yifei in spirit,” one student wrote on social media.

Another added: “I am intrigued by the subject of logic thanks to our teacher’s teaching. She often buys us snacks. We all like her.”

A third student commented: “The classroom is always full during our teacher’s logic class. She is gentle and polite,” adding that her appearance is the last thing Yuan takes pride in and urging others not to judge or criticize the “extraordinary teacher” based on her looks.

The story has sparked widespread discussion online, with content garnering over 7 million views on a single platform.

“Side-on, she bears a strong resemblance to Liu, but not so much from the front,” one netizen observed.
Another joked: “If my teacher was a Liu Yifei lookalike, I would be the best student in school.”

Liu Yifei, born in Wuhan in 1987, moved to the U.S. at age 10 following her parents’ divorce and later became a U.S. citizen.

She rose to fame in the 2003 drama “The Story of a Noble Family” and has since starred in numerous Chinese and Hollywood films. In 2009, she was named one of China’s “New Four Dan” actresses, a title given to the country’s most prominent young stars.
