Arshad Nadeem, the Olympic gold medallist in javelin throwing from Pakistan, had his Instagram account disabled in India due to a “legal request” after the Pahalgam terror assault, which killed 26 Indian tourists.

When Indian Instagram users tried to see Arshad’s page, they were greeted with the following error: “Account not available in India.” certain is as a result of our compliance with a court order to limit certain material.

The government has made its position known by cracking down on Pakistani social media accounts with a substantial following in India ever after the heinous terror assault in the valley.

For “disseminating provocative and communally sensitive content, false and misleading narratives, and misinformation against India, its Army, and security agencies,” a number of Pakistani YouTube channels were also blocked in India earlier this week.

YouTube accounts belonging to former cricket players Shahid Afridi, Basit Ali, and Shoaib Akhtar were blocked.

It’s interesting to note that, in contrast to Nadeem, their Instagram profiles are still active even if their YouTube footage is no longer accessible.

Actors Mahira Khan and Ali Zafar are among the other well-known Pakistani celebs whose Instagram accounts have been restricted in India.

Indian superstar Neeraj Chopra had asked Nadeem, who won gold at the Olympics in Paris after defeating him, to compete in the first-ever NC Classic javelin competition on May 24 in Bengaluru.

He turned down the offer, however, stating that he had other obligations.
