Authorities have flagged over 1,500 suspicious reports, prompting police and education officials to issue strict warnings to students and parents. Social media platforms and messaging apps like Telegram and WhatsApp have become hotspots for false leaks and scam attempts, leading to a major crackdown by cybercrime departments.

Students on Edge as Fake Paper Leak Claims Go Viral

According to the National Testing Agency (NTA), over 1,500 paper leak claims have been reported on a dedicated portal. These claims, mostly circulated via anonymous social media accounts, have created confusion and anxiety among NEET aspirants. Many posts claim to have access to the original exam paper, demanding money from students in exchange.

However, authorities have confirmed that these are baseless rumors. The NTA has assured candidates that robust security measures are in place and that the exam process remains fully secure.

NTA and Cybercrime Team Up to Tackle Misinformation

In a proactive move, the NTA has identified over 106 Telegram channels and 16 Instagram accounts involved in spreading fake NEET UG 2025 paper leak content. These groups are allegedly being run by cyber fraudsters who are targeting anxious students by promising leaked papers and guaranteed answers.

The agency has passed on all related information to the cybercrime departments for further investigation. Requests have also been sent to Telegram and Instagram to remove the channels immediately and provide the identity of their administrators.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Education has held meetings with District Magistrates and Superintendents of Police from all states to reinforce security and ensure a fair and transparent exam environment.

Official Advisory for NEET Aspirants

Both NTA and law enforcement agencies have urged students and guardians to refrain from believing or forwarding unverified messages on social media. They emphasized that official updates related to NEET UG 2025 will only be published on the NTA’s official website (https://nta.ac.in).

A senior police official stated, “Cybercriminals are exploiting exam-related anxiety. Students must stay alert. Trust only official sources and avoid falling for scams that claim to offer leaked papers.”
