Enrique has confirmed that Dembele won't feature for PSG this weekend, but it remains to be seen whether he'll be fit to face the Gunners. When Arsenal defeated PSG in the 'league phase' back in October, due to disciplinary reasons.
According to French newspapers and at the time, Enrique and Dembele had an argument following a 3-1 win against Stade Rennes. When the PSG boss was quizzed on the matter by journalists, .
"I am not going to make a soap opera out of it, ," said Enrique. "There was a problem with the player's responsibility to the team. Nothing else."
In Dembele's absence, the PSG boss opted for a frontline of Bradley Barcola, Kang-in Lee and Desire Doue. Enrique's decision didn't exactly go to plan, with .
Once the dust had settled, Enrique defended his decision to drop Dembele for the Gunners clash. The former Barcelona boss claimed it was a 'very important' turning point in his tenure at Les Parc des Princes.
"The best thing I did was not play him in London, for which I was strongly criticised," said Enrique. "It is the best decision I have made this year. The rest is all down to him, but what happened in London was very important."
History suggests that Enrique could refer back to a front-three of Barcola, Lee and Doue, but PSG have since welcomed Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to the Parc des Princes. The French champions signed the 24-year-old winger from Napoli in January for just £59m.
Unsurprisingly, Lee hasn't had much of a look-in since Kvaratskhelia joined PSG. The Georgia international, who signed a four-year contract, has already featured 22 times for the Parisians, scoring four goals and providing six assists.
In a recent interview with , Kvaratskhelia outlined his ambition to win the Champions League. With Dembele a doubt, Enrique will be hoping the Georgian magician can step up to the plate.
"It's probably the biggest tournament in football," said Kvaratskhelia. "It's every footballer's dream to play in it and everyone wants to win it, but it's incredibly difficult. Even reaching this stage is hard for any team.
"The name says it all – the Champions League. It's a tournament for champions. And every one of them has the ability and skill to become the champion of this tournament.
"We're trying to put our best foot forward, and I think we're doing really well. The key is to stay focused on our game, to concentrate fully on each match and each moment that lies ahead. I believe everything is possible for us."
