New Delhi: After former Punjab Chief Minister and Congress MP Charanjit Singh Channi stoked controversy by demanding evidence of the surgical strikes the Indian armed forces had previously carried out in Pakistani territory under the BJP government at the center, BJP National Spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla accused the Congress of “hurting” the morale of the armed forces.
“The Pakistan Prast Party (PPP) is now Congress. According to Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Pakistan shouldn’t be targeted. They are attempting to demoralize the military once again. Rahul Gandhi has already called for evidence of the surgical strike as well. Leaders of the Congress party, including Robert Vadra, have blamed Hindutva and handed Pakistan a clean sheet. In a video message, BJP spokeswoman Poonawalla said, “They always match their tunes with Pakistan.”
“When the whole country is standing behind the army so that they can give a befitting reply to the terrorists, the Congress party is hurting the morale of the army,” he said.
Charanjit Singh Channi, a former Punjab chief minister and Congress MP, fueled controversy by requesting documentation of previous surgical strikes conducted by the Indian military on Pakistani territory when the BJP was in power at the federal level.
The former chief minister of Punjab expressed skepticism about the strikes, stating that he had consistently sought evidence of them.
I have yet to locate the location of the (surgical) attack, the guys who were murdered there, or the fact that this occurred in Pakistan. If a bomb is dropped on our nation, won’t we know? In Pakistan, they allegedly carried out a surgical attack. There had been no action. There was no sign of a surgical strike. No one found out… I’ve always insisted on (evidence). Today, however, people’s wounds must be cared for. We want the government to take action. At a news conference, Channi said, “Tell people who they (the perpetrators of the Pahalgam Terrorist Attack) are and punish them.”
Delhi Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa responded to Channi’s statements by claiming that they demonstrate the “dirty mentality of the Gandhi family.”
“Congress has questioned the Indian Air Force once again. Charanjit Singh Channi, the former chief minister of Punjab, has reiterated his disbelief in the surgical strike and his need for evidence of it. Why are Rahul Gandhi, the Gandhi family, and the Congress party always criticising the Indian Air Force and army”? Sirsa said. ”
India’s surgical strikes have inflicted a great deal of damage, according to Pakistan itself. Charanjit Singh Channi has once again exposed the shady politics and mindset of the Gandhi family, who constantly criticize the army and undermine its soldiers. “I denounce this,” he continued.
The Congress party, which is dedicated to the unity of the nation, had called on the government to take action against those responsible for the Pahalgam incident at its CWC meeting. The administration had said that the next census will include caste enumeration.
Charanjit Singh Channi, a former Punjab government official, also asked the government to strive towards the rehabilitation of the Pahalgam assault victims’ relatives.
