When 9-year-old Shruti Haasan left dad Kamal Haasan offended with one innocent remark

Veteran actor Kamal Haasan shares a huge fan base following his magnificent career in showbiz and is a face one hardly won't recognize on the streets. Throwback to the time when Shruti Haasan , daughter of Kamal Haasan, once shared a childhood memory that left her father both surprised and hurt.

During an earlier interview on The Love Laugh Live Show: Season 3, Shruti recalled that when she was about nine years old, she boldly told her father that she wished to be related to someone more famous than him-like Einstein-because she was tired of being known just as "Kamal Haasan’s daughter."

At that young age, she didn’t fully grasp the magnitude of her father's fame, and her innocent remark unintentionally offended Kamal Haasan.


The Salaar actress said, "But he was extremely offended and he was like, 'Shruti, I am really famous. Like a lot of people really like me.' And I was like, 'Yeah, but you know what I mean.' He was like, 'No, I don't know what you mean.'"

Kamal Haasan is an iconic cinematic icon in India and internationally, with a career spanning of over six decades.

Shruti's career spans Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi cinema, where she has made a name for herself as a talented actress and singer. She has been praised for her performances in films like 'Race Gurram', 'Gabbar Singh', and 'Krack'. Currently, she is gearing up for her roles in 'Coolie', directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, and will be also working on 'Salaar: Part 2' - Shouryaanga Parvam starring Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumara in the lead which is directed by Prashanth Neel.

Meanwhile, Kamal Haasan continues to impress audiences with his work and will soon be seen in the film 'Thug Life'.
