Elevated railway track: There is a pleasant news for the residents of Kanpur. In the next two years, 16.25 km long elevated railway track from Anwarganj to Mandhana will be prepared. On completion of this project, about 60 lakh people will get rid of the problem of jam. Along with this, old railway stations like Kalyanpur and Rawatpur will take a new modern station, which will be named after Pandit Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
Tender process will start from 16 April
Commissioner Vijayendra Pandian told in a meeting with the officials that tenders will be issued soon for the construction of the new station. This station will be installed on the banks of GT Road, near Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University (CSJMU). It will be completely hi -tech and metro connectivity will also be available here.
Metro will be connected to Skywalk
The commissioner directed Kanpur Metro Project Director Arvind Meena to connect the new station through Skywalk to SPM Hospital and Metro stations of CSJMU. This will make it easier for the passengers to catch the metro and avoid the crowd on the road.
Reduction in jam due to construction of track
The construction of this track will eliminate about 15 railway crossings connecting the north and south parts of the city. Currently, these crossings lead to daily jams. The commissioner says that on the completion of this project, the traffic system of Kanpur will change completely and people will get relief.
Focus on passengers' convenience
The railway will prepare an alternative route to ensure that the movement of long distance trains during the construction of the track. The commissioner has asked the railway officials to make concrete plans on this soon, so that the passengers do not have to face any kind of trouble.
Mass effort of departments
The Municipal Corporation, Metro, Railways and Traffic Departments will work together in this project. Overall, this is an important step towards improving the traffic and transport system of Kanpur. The city's picture will change in two years.
