Abul Hasan, the Instagram content creator who initially created content to gain popularity, is today gaining hearts as ‘Sameer’ in Pakistani drama serial Parwarish. Popular online as Abulography, he initially began his content-making journey not with the intention of seeking popularity, but with the mission to raise awareness. His initial videos, uploaded weekly, always had a substantial social message. He was convinced that if the message is real, then it would automatically relate to people—without having to pursue popularity or money.

Even to this day, Abul is noticed due to his profound understanding of the younger generation. He believes that most Gen Z kids are identity-challenged because they tend to see themselves as others see them. In his opinion, peace only resides once one takes risks and puts one’s trust in something greater. Letting go and leaving things up to God, he holds, comes with an understanding and peace.

Abul’s conception of love is sincere but powerful. He prefers to love hard and genuinely but does not indulge in disrespect. No relationship matters more than his dignity, for him. Where love turns to disrespect, he will not shut up. Abul also criticizes the myth that emotions represent weakness. Cry, hurt, or get mad—these are indications of humanness, not something to feel embarrassed about.

His attitude towards love stems from the belief of complete acceptance. Whatever a person’s natural beauty or distinctive thought pattern, he has no hesitation in accepting them for what they are. He never makes unnecessary compliments; he praises only when it genuinely comes to him.

Describing how he was cast in the role of Sameer, Abul informed that director Maysam Naqvi mentioned to him that while reading the character, he came to his mind immediately. Abul considered the offer seriously, read the whole script, and only then agreed to play the role. Writer Kiran Siddiqui and Maysam Naqvi trusted him and provided him with creative liberty to mold the character. That liberty assisted in making Sameer a character that deeply connects with Gen Z audiences.

Abul Hasan’s transition from reflective social media clips to strong screen presence indicates the way honesty and intentionality can result in real success.
