New Delhi: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will take on Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the 53rd clash of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Sunday. It will be a return fixture for the two teams, which earlier locked horns on March 26 in Guwahati, and KKR turned out to be the winner, claiming the match by eight wickets. Ajinkya Rahane will continue to lead KKR while it will be Riyan Parag again as the captain of RR.
The visiting Kolkata side had invited RR to bat first, and it was a below-par performance from the home side, which could only manage 151/9 in 20 overs, with Dhruv Jurel top-scoring 33. The RR bowlers weren’t able to defend the meagre total as KKR chased 152 in just 17.3 overs, on the back of a brilliant 97* from Quinton de Kock. It will be interesting to see if Kolkata is able to exact revenge at their den on Sunday!
