During the investigation of Pahalgam Terror Attack, an important disclosure has been revealed that the satellite phone of Chinese Company Huawei was used in Bisaran area during the attack. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) feared that the phone was smuggled from Pakistan or any other country.

Chinese telecom companies in the country Huawei and Zhongxing Telecommunication Equipment (ZTE) are not allowed to sell equipment for 5G networks. Although there is no clear restriction on these, Indian telecom companies have dropped Huawei and ZTE out of the 5G rollout. This is because these companies do not meet the condition of the reliable source fixed by the central government.

Indian telecom companies are also ready to pay more money to use European equipment due to security concerns to Chinese equipment. America, Britain, Australia and New Zealand also banned Huawei from their 5G network. These four countries are member countries of Five Eyes Intelligence sharing coalition with Canada.

NIA is investigating various aspects of the attack with the help of forensic experts and technical intelligence experts. Tracking satellite phones is also included. For this, the help of agencies of Western countries is also being taken.
