An series has been hailed as one of the best ever made, but not everyone feels the same way. first hit screens in 2022 and follows workers Mark S (portrayed by Adam Scott), Irving B (John Turturro), Helly R (Britt Lower) and Dylan G (Zach Cherry), set within the all-encompassing Lumon Industries, a secretive firm capable of splitting their employees' memories between their personal and professional lives.
When Helly joins the team, they work together to learn more about their mysterious workplace, constantly under the watchful eye of their supervisor Mr Milchick (Tramell Tillman).
Meanwhile, floor manager Harmony Cobel (Patricia Arquette) maintains rigid control while leading a secret double life as Mark's neighbour, Mrs Selvig.
After its debut in 2022, Severance earned 14 nominations at the 74th Primetime Emmy Awards.
Severance is executive produced by Ben Stiller, who also helms five episodes of season two alongside directors Uta Briesewitz, Sam Donovan and Jessica Lee Gagne. The series is written, created and executive produced by Dan Erickson.
After a lengthy three-year hiatus, the eagerly awaited second series dropped on Apple TV in January and wrapped up in March.
Most of the main reprised their roles for the second season, while new additions to the cast included Game of Thrones star Gwendoline Christie, Alia Shawkat, Bob Balaban and Merritt Wever.
The series has a near perfect score on Rotten Tomatoes with a 96% rating and is regarded as by some.
But others have expressed frustration over the show's slow pace, believing it is nothing other than boring.
"Severance is the most boring show on TV," declared one viewer on X as a second echoed: "Severance is soooooo boring."
A third agreed: "Severance is boring. Great concept but honestly the most over rated garbage since Breaking Bad. It's wall to wall dead pan acting and cringe woke filler garbage. You can tell they panicked when a second season was announced."
Another admitted they struggled to conclude the series, adding: "Finally I finished Severance, (stopped watching 5 times) too slow and boring."
A fifth chimed in: "Severance actually sucks!!!!!! Just boring as f**k! I don't discredit the effort in production design and BTS but the show sucks."
