Speaking in the mixed zone after Mainz played out a 1-1 draw with Eintracht Frankfurt, veteran centre-half Stefan Bell reflected on the game.

“It was a fast-paced, energetic game from start to finish. It was certainly enjoyable, especially for the spectators.

“The start was unfortunate with the injuries [to Kohr and da Costa] and the goal conceded. What was crucial was that we stabilized after the substitutions until half-time.

“Overall, it was intense, but always fair on the pitch. In the second half, the game went both ways, with chances for both teams.

“But we certainly had a lot of good moves against a team in third place,” Bell explained.

Jonathan Burkardt also shared his thoughts on his equalising goal but highlighted his disappointment at the result.

“I’m relieved to have scored again, but there’s also a hint of disappointment, especially because I had the chance to score a second goal. I would have loved to have scored,” the striker added.
