Dharmshala is not cursed for Punjab Kings, as Mullanpur was. Despite losing the toss, Kings posted a massive total in front of Lucknow Super Giants, making it nearly impossible for the guests to chase. LSG ended up scoring 199 runs, mainly on the shoulders of Ayush Badoni, who scored 74 runs! A dropped catch from captain Shreyas Iyer, but no problem! Punjab Kings won by 37 runs. Well, with this, LSG's hopes for the playoffs have almost been curtailed.
Punjab Kings posted a mammoth 236/5 in their allotted 20 overs, registering their highest-ever total at Dharmashala in IPL history. Prabhsimran Singh led the charge with a scintillating 91 off 48 balls, smashing 6 fours and 7 sixes in a breathtaking knock that anchored the innings. Captain Shreyas Iyer chipped in with a fluent 45 off 25 balls before becoming the first spinner-dismissal of his 2025 IPL season, falling to Digvesh Rathi just after dispatching him for a six. Josh Inglis provided early momentum with a quickfire 30 from 14, while Shashank Singh and Marcus Stoinis finished things off in style—striking at over 200—with Shashank’s unbeaten 33 off 15 balls including a roof-hitting six.
For Lucknow, their bowlers took a beating, with Mayank Yadav conceding 60 and Avesh Khan 57 in their respective four-over spells. Digvesh Rathi stood out by picking two crucial wickets—those of Prabhsimran and Iyer—while Akash Singh also bagged two being the miser amongst all.

Ayush Badoni and Abdul Samad's effort went in vain
Chasing a mammoth target of 237, Lucknow Super Giants crumbled under pressure and managed only 199/7, falling short by 37 runs against Punjab Kings. The top-order collapse hurt LSG early, with Arshdeep Singh's fiery spell (4-0-16-3) breaking their backbone. Arshdeep struck thrice inside the powerplay, dismissing Mitchell Marsh for a duck, Aiden Markram for 13, and the in-form Nicholas Pooran for just 6. Pooran, who had been at the center of discussions for his explosive form this season, failed to rise on the big occasion and fell LBW after facing only five balls.
Rishabh Pant and David Miller couldn’t convert their starts, leaving too much for the lower order. Ayush Badoni's valiant 74 off 40 and Abdul Samad's blistering 45 off 24 briefly reignited hope, but Punjab's disciplined bowling, especially from Omarzai (2/33) and Jansen (1/31), kept the chase in check. Despite, the target proved too steep as LSG's hopes faded with Badoni’s dismissal in the 19th over. Punjab's bowlers stood tall, sealing a dominant win.
