At the Waves Summit recently, Kareena Kapoor Khan shocked the audience by an unexpected revelation: veteran filmmaker Steven Spielberg once recognized him at a restaurant in Italy. He asked, “You are a girl with 3 Idiots, isn't you?” – Due to which Kareena remained speechless.

It may sound strange to hear, but Spielberg is not only familiar with 3 Idiots – but he is also a great fan of it. The prestigious director allegedly watched Rajkumar Hirani's film three times, described it as “emotionally powerful” and even considered global adaptation.

In fact, in an interview during his visit to Mumbai in 2013, Spielberg ranked 3 Idiots in five films that impressed him the most – ET, Saving Private Ryan, Jose and The Godfather. This is a monumental signal not only for Hirani, but also for the entire Indian cinema.
