After months of little public visibility, fans were thrilled to catch a rare glimpse of BTS’ V (Kim Taehyung) and Jungkook together during their military service. The two global icons were recently seen training at the same gym, looking significantly more muscular as they continue to serve. With updates about them being few and far between since their enlistment, this latest appearance has sparked excitement among their supporters—especially among fans of the “Taekook” duo.

On May 3, a professional trainer shared photos from their workout session on social media, expressing his amazement at meeting the two superstars in person. To add to the surprise, actor Song Kang—known for his role in Nevertheless—was also spotted with them. This appearance came shortly after V uploaded a snippet of his own fitness routine to Instagram, hinting at his ongoing dedication to staying in shape.

The trainer, Choi Hanjin, who is also a competitive bodybuilder, posted on Instagram, “I can’t believe the young men my wife constantly watches on screen are standing in front of me.” He was full of praise for both stars, noting their composed yet powerful energy and deep commitment throughout their session.

One of the photos shows V and Jungkook dressed in matching black outfits, flexing their toned arms, while another features V and Song Kang posing with Choi. Choi added, “Their physiques are proof of their hard work.” While Jungkook has long been known for his love of fitness, Taehyung’s transformation from a delicate, prince-like persona to a tougher, more masculine image has caught everyone’s attention.

For those unfamiliar, V and Jungkook are currently assigned to different units. Jungkook and Jimin enlisted together under the “Companion Soldier” system, which allows close friends to serve side-by-side. Meanwhile, V opted for a more specialized path, joining the elite Special Duty Team under the Army Capital Defense Command, where he now serves in anti-terrorism operations. The remaining BTS members are expected to be discharged by June 2025.

Speculation on BTS Reunion and Comeback

Before enlisting, all seven members—RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook—pursued individual projects to ensure fans continued to receive fresh content.

With all members scheduled to complete service by mid-2025, anticipation is high for a full-group return. HYBE’s CEO, Lee Jae Sang, confirmed plans for a comeback, emphasizing that preparations must be deliberate given BTS’ global influence. Meanwhile, J-Hope, who recently completed his military duties, teased in an interview that the group’s reunion is “closer than fans expect,” hinting at swift planning and strong camaraderie.
