pointed out the arrival times of himself and in the paddock. The two legends of modern F1, who have a combined 11 Drivers' Championship titles, were the first to arrive at the racetrack. Verstappen and Hamilton are both known for being two of the hardest-working stars on the F1 grid. Christian Horner has made it clear in 2025 that his driver is working more intensely than ever to bring performance to the RB21, while the British racer is often the first in and last out as he continues to learn the ropes of his Ferrari machinery.
The Red Bull driver pointed out the work ethic of the two most decorated drivers on the current grid when pulling into the circuit in Miami. "You see that, by the way," he said to the camera. "Seven-time world champion, four-time world champion... the first in."
Unfortunately for Hamilton and Verstappen, their hard work was not rewarded with strong results at the Miami International Autodrome. The reigning world champion was dropped out of the points in the sprint race on Saturday following an unfortunate pit-lane incident with Kimi Antonelli.
Then, in the Grand Prix, he was overtaken by title rivals Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris before an unfortunately timed virtual safety car dropped him behind George Russell. He ultimately crossed the line in P4, losing significant ground in his championship fight.
Hamilton, meanwhile, fell victim to Ferrari's indecision. The Brit made good headway from 12th on the grid and found himself running right behind team-mate Charles Leclerc after the VSC ended, but the Maranello-based squad's pit wall struggled to work out a strategy to invert the cars, leaving the Brit frustrated on softer rubber behind his colleague.
After the race, Hamilton cooled down significantly. "I've still got my fire in my belly," he explained after the chequered flag. "I could feel a bit of it really coming up there. I'm not going to apologise for being a fighter.
"I'm not going to apologise for still wanting it. I know everyone in the team does, too. I didn't think the decision came quick enough. And for sure, in that time you're like, 'Come on!' But that's really kind of it.
"I have no problems with the team or with Charles. I think we could do better. But the car is not where we really need to be. Ultimately, we're fighting for seventh and eighth."
