New Delhi: The highly anticipated clash between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium was abandoned due to persistent rain handing both teams a single point — a result that confirmed SRH’s elimination from the IPL 2025 playoff race. The match had started with promise especially for SRH who had the Capitals on the ropes early after DC managed just 133 for 7 in their 20 overs. However relentless showers that began midway through the evening session meant no further play was possible despite the ground staff and Super Soppers working overtime. Ultimately after multiple inspections and a lengthy delay the umpires called off the match around 11:10 PM IST much to the disappointment of the fans in Hyderabad. Ground efforts continued till well past 11 PM but with the cut-off for a five-over game approaching the umpires had no choice but to call off the match.
