In the Katihar area of Bihar, a vehicle accident claimed eight lives and wounded two more. An SUV and a tractor collided head-on on Tuesday, according to the police. The deadly accident happened in the night between Monday and Tuesday, next to the Sameli block office.

They said that the victims are being identified. When police arrived on the scene, they sent the victims to the closest government hospital, where they were pronounced dead.

An accident occurred as the SUV’s occupants were on their way back from a wedding event.

“At least eight persons, all men, died and two others were injured when an SUV in which they were travelling collided head-on with a tractor coming from the opposite direction on the NH-31 near the Sameli block office,” Vaibhav Sharma, SP of Katihar district, said.

The hospital is treating the two wounded people. Locals claim that the victims are Supaul residents. All of the victims are thought to have been in the SUV.

According to him, further investigation is being conducted and the remains have been transferred for post-mortem examination.

In Begusarai district, a speeding SUV belonging to the Block Education Officer (BEO) of Naokothi block struck a man’s motorbike on Monday, killing him and injuring another.

The collision happened inside the boundaries of the Mufassil police station on State Highway 55 close to Hardiya Dhala. Witnesses said that the SUV struck the motorbike directly.

The biker perished instantly as a result of the collision’s extreme impact, while the pillion rider suffered severe injuries. After the collision, the driver tried to escape but lost control and struck an electric pole with the car. After apprehending and beating the driver, the locals turned him over to the district police.
