New Delhi: Speculation surrounding a possible pregnancy for actors Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala has been fuelled in recent days, following the latter’s elegant appearance at WAVES 2025 in Mumbai. Draped in a traditional saree, the Made in Heaven star’s ensemble was scrutinised online, with many suggesting the look had been styled to conceal a baby bump. Her recent preference for loose silhouettes has only intensified the rumour mill.
However, the pregnancy claims have now been dismissed by a family insider. In a statement made to ETimes, the source clarified, “She wore anti-fit, not maternity. It’s amazing how a change in silhouette can birth a whole new storyline.” The remark has been viewed as a subtle shutdown of the ongoing gossip.
The couple, who quietly tied the knot in a Telugu-style ceremony at Annapurna Studios on 4 December last year, have remained relatively low-key since their engagement in Hyderabad on 8 August. The relationship had been sparked in an unexpectedly modern way–via Instagram.
It was during a fan AMA that Sobhita first noticed Naga Chaitanya following her. A mutual love for the Telugu language soon led to direct messages, appreciation, and eventually a relationship. “There was no mic drop. It just happened very organically,” Sobhita had revealed in an earlier interview with Vogue.
Their union came three years after Naga Chaitanya’s public separation from actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu, which was announced in October 2021. Despite the intense scrutiny often placed on high-profile celebrity relationships, the couple has managed to keep most of their private life away from the spotlight, choosing soft launches and subtle posts over grand public gestures.
While fans have eagerly begun to imagine the next chapter in the couple’s story, it has been made clear—at least for now—that parenthood is not on the cards just yet.
