Drivers faced huge delays on the M1 after a horror motorbike crash in the East Midlands this morning. Emergency services including an air ambulance have raced to the scene near Northampton after a crash involving a motorbike.
National Highways: East Midlands said the M1 northbound between J16 Northampton and J18 Crick was closed following a collision involving a motorcycle. Emergency services, including the air ambulance attended the scene.
Northamptonshire Police have confirmed that two people were seriously injured and taken to the University of Coventry Hospital. Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service said earlier it had "two appliances on scene" with crews from Long Buckby and Moulton "assisting emergency services colleagues from Police and the Air Ambulance".

In an update on X at 3.46pm, National Highways: East Midlands the road is now open, adding that there are "residual delays of at least 1 hour in the area, but should now start to clear".
