The statement follows Operation Sindoor, in which Pakistan was targeted by military forces using missiles in revenge for the terror assault in Pahalgam last month that claimed 26 lives.

“Air India flights to and from the following stations—Jammu, Srinagar, Leh, Jodhpur, Amritsar, Bhuj, Jamnagar, Chandigarh, and Rajkot—are being cancelled till 0529 hrs IST on 10 May following a notification from aviation authorities on the closure of these airports,” the company said.

The airline also said in a post on X that travelers with valid tickets for travel during this time would be eligible for a complete refund for cancellations or a one-time waiver of rescheduling fees.

Following Operation Sindoor, many airlines have canceled a number of flights because of airspace restrictions.

Following military missile attacks on terror targets in Pakistan, Indian airlines canceled dozens of flights and many airports in northern India, including Srinagar, were closed.

Early on Wednesday, the Indian military launched missile attacks on nine terror targets in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, including the camp of Lashkar-e-Taiba in Muridke and the Jaish-e-Mohamad stronghold in Bahawalpur.

Authorities in Gujarat shuttered the Rajkot and Bhuj airports to commercial planes on Wednesday morning after the Indian Armed Forces launched missile strikes on targets inside Pakistan.

The district of Kutch, which borders Pakistan, is home to the Bhuj airport.

Prabhav Joshi, the district collector for Rajkot, said, “We received a NOTAM (Notice to Airmen) this morning that the Rajkot International Airport will remain shut for three days.”

For the next three days, military aircraft will be able to use it 24/7, according to another official.

Air India said that it will not run any flights to the Gujarati airports of Rajkot, Bhuj, and Jamnagar till midday.

“Due to the current circumstances, Air India has canceled all of its flights to and from the following locations till 12 p.m. on May 7, awaiting more information from the authorities: Jammu, Srinagar, Leh, Jodhpur, Amritsar, Bhuj, Jamnagar, Chandigarh, and Rajkot. In its early morning post on X, the airline expressed sorrow for the discomfort this unplanned interruption has caused.
