Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Delhi Capitals (DC) will play the 58th match of the  at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, Dharamsala, on May 8.

The match will be important for both the sides with the race for the playoffs heating up. PBKS have one win more than DC and a victory will nearly seal the qualification for them. 

On the other hand, the Delhi-based franchise will be looking forward to going back to winning ways by beating the home team. Their start to the IPL was fantastic with four wins in four games, but they lost momentum afterwards and are stuck in fifth spot with six wins in 11 matches.

As the tournament is nearing its end, the teams will have to be extra careful in going about their gameplans, especially the ones who are on the verge of qualifying for the playoffs. Until now, no teams have officially qualified for the playoffs. 

The Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, Dharamsala, is expected to assist the batters. However, the pacers will also get some help in the initial part of the innings. The captain who wins the toss would look to bat first.

PBKS and DC have played 33 matches against each other so far, with the former winning 17 and the latter 16.
