The “curse” is no longer present. With a little assistance from Freiburg on Sunday, Bayern Munich won the Bundesliga, allowing Harry Kane to finally enjoy his first professional victory.

With two games left in the German league, Freiburg drew 2-2 with second-place Bayer Leverkusen, leaving Bayern eight points ahead of the 2024 champion.

Some have spoken of a “curse” against a player regarded as one of the finest strikers in the world since the 31-year-old Kane had never won a trophy in a career of finishing second and losing in finals with Bayern, Tottenham, and England.

Following Kane’s 2023 debut as Bayern’s record signing, the team had its first trophyless season since 2012.

When it seemed like Bayern would win 3-2 in Leipzig on Saturday, Kane was prepared to rejoice. However, Yussuf Poulsen gave Leipzig a 3-3 tie with the last kick of play, delaying Bayern’s celebration.
