US President Comments on Recent Military Strikes

New York/Washington: Following India's military operations aimed at terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir on Wednesday, President Donald Trump expressed his desire for a swift end to the ongoing hostilities.

He remarked, "It’s unfortunate," and noted, "We learned about it just as we were entering the Oval Office. I suppose people anticipated some action based on previous events."

Trump continued, stating, "They have been in conflict for a long time—many decades, in fact, if you consider the history."

When asked if he had any specific message for the involved nations, he replied, "No, I just hope it concludes very soon."

In response to the Pahalgam terror attack, Indian forces executed missile strikes targeting nine locations associated with terrorism in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, including Bahawalpur, known as a base for the Jaish-e-Mohammad group.

The strikes were conducted under the operation named 'Operation Sindoor', as confirmed by the defense ministry.

These military actions were initiated two weeks after the Pahalgam attack, which sparked significant outrage both in India and internationally.

The Defense Ministry stated, "These measures follow the horrific Pahalgam terrorist attack that resulted in the deaths of 25 Indians and one Nepali citizen."

"We are committed to ensuring that those accountable for this attack face justice," the statement concluded.
