Suspense crime, Digital Desk : With the latest iPhone update, Google Maps can now scan your screenshots for pertinent details like the name and address of restaurants. This new feature is powered by Gemini AI. It enables you to remember locations of interest without going through the trouble of searching for them.

If you browse through stories or social media, Google Maps will automatically scan your screenshots and save them to the corresponding lists Capsule Collection.

What Screenshots do with Google Maps

To maximize the effectiveness of Google Maps, you should update to their most recent version.

– Choose the “You” tab on the application’s home page.
– A new private category referred to as “Capsule Collection” will be accessible with a single click
– Within the application, a tutorial will explain the steps to take.

This is how it works: Google Maps recognizes pictures containing places and adds them to a list while providing an option to skip.

You Decide: Override Feature or Manual Selection

Users that allow Google’s Maps app access to their photo library can review a carousel of available images termed “Auto.” Prefer a do-it-yourself style? You can also go through your gallery and select which photos you would like Google Maps to access.

The application also has a toggle button which allows users to enable this feature if needed from the settings.

Why It’s Useful

This modification works perfectly with users who take screenshots of restaurants, stores, and landmarks as bookmarks. Unlike lost or neglected screenshots, Google Maps now takes care of sorting them which enhances effortless planning or spontaneous explorations.
