Obnews Tech Desk: WhatsApp recently started the 'Add Yours' sticker feature for iOS users, now the same experience is going to be available to Android users. With the latest Whatsapp Beta update, some beta testers are getting a chance to use this new sticker, allowing them to add theme based topics to their status updates and invite friends to respond.
The user can put a question, challenge or thought status, such as – “Add Yours: Share the most cute photo of your dog”, and people coming in contact can tap on that sticker and share photos or videos in the same subject through their own status.
This feature allows users to create an interactive chain, in which every person can add their media posts. However, it is not necessary that every user will see all other chain entries – every answer is shared as an independent status. There is no option to see an answer by linking it to its original post unless the two users are in each other's contacts.
WhatsApp has also retained the end-to-end encryption in this feature, which gives full confidence to control and safety to every user. Any answer is limited only to the respondent's own contacts.
Although this facility is currently being released for beta users, some stable version users have also started seeing this sticker. It seems that WhatsApp is gradually transporting this feature to all users through the server-side rollout.
