According to The StarCheung enjoyed a holiday in Kuala Lumpur with his niece and a group of friends, posting several photos from the trip on his Facebook page. In his post, the actor expressed his admiration for Malaysia.

“Cantonese is widely spoken, and the prices are attractive,” he captioned his post. “It’s certainly a great option for a second home, though it’s not yet the right time for me to buy property for long-term value.”

Cheung added that among the many things that impressed him during his visit, cleanliness stood out the most. He remarked that while some public toilets may be older, most are “always kept clean, without any unpleasant odors.” He recalled a recent stop in Cameron Highlands, where even in a remote area, the restrooms were well-maintained.

“Hong Kong restaurants, especially the tea houses, really need to do better,” Cheung commented, highlighting the contrast in standards.

The actor also praised Malaysians for their humility and close-knit family bonds.

At 70, Cheung, who earned a diploma in film production from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and later pursued advanced studies in the Art of Movies at The New School in New York, has made his mark not only as an actor but also as a scriptwriter and director.

His 1983 film “Let’s Make Laugh,” which he both wrote and directed, won him the Best Screenplay award, while his leading actress Cecilia Yip received the Best Actress award at the 3rd Hong Kong Film Awards.
