Nidhi Sabbarwal began her entrepreneurial journey with the launch of PRtainment Media & Communications, a firm she co-founded to provide strategic brand communication and public relations services. Known for her sharp instincts, storytelling finesse, and ability to build enduring brand identities, Nidhi quickly earned recognition as a dynamic leader.

While balancing the demands of running her agency and raising a toddler, Nidhi experienced a pivotal shift in her personal life after marriage. Her in-laws in Allahabad were deeply rooted in spiritual practices and frequently held poojas at home. However, Nidhi’s sensitivity to synthetic incense and dhoop smoke made it difficult for her to fully participate in these rituals.

Motivated to find an alternative, she began experimenting with homemade incense cones and dhoop using recycled temple flowers and essential oils. What started as a personal necessity gradually caught the attention of friends and family, whose appreciation encouraged Nidhi to think bigger.

This led to the creation of Kalyanamm, a brand grounded in sustainability, sacred living, and the empowerment of women. The brand offers eco-friendly pooja materials crafted from sacred floral waste, while also generating livelihood opportunities for women, seamlessly blending tradition with innovation and environmental consciousness.

Now a mid-stage entrepreneur managing two ventures and motherhood, Nidhi represents a new wave of women leaders who are not only building businesses but also reshaping culture with purpose. This Mother’s Day, her journey stands as a powerful reminder of how motherhood can inspire ideas that are both deeply personal and socially transformative.

Capacity, Founder of The Sound Spaceis a dedicated Indian classical music artist whose deep-rooted passion led her to create a platform that not only teaches Indian classical music to children and adults but also champions the transformative power of music education. Through The Sound Spaceshe has been instrumental in highlighting how music can shape young minds and foster emotional, intellectual, and social growth.

Her initiatives are both impactful and imaginative, ranging from Music on Wheelswhich brings music education to underserved communities, to Jungle jugalbandia storybook designed to introduce classical instruments to young readers in a fun, engaging way. The Sound Space’s collaborative spirit is evident in its partnerships with the Delhi Department of Education and international artists like Japanese violinist Mika Nishimura, showcasing a blend of tradition, innovation, and global connection.

As a mother, Kamakshi’s journey takes on even deeper meaning. Her personal experience of nurturing her child while nurturing a generation through music adds a heartfelt dimension to her work. Motherhood has not only influenced her perspective as an educator but also reaffirmed her belief in the role of music in holistic child development.

Kamakshi says, “A mother doesn’t just raise a child—she raises a rhythm of love that echoes for generations. On Mother’s Day, I celebrate not just mothers, but the music they create in every heartbeat, every hug, every hard day navigated with grace.”

She further adds,

“As a mother and an entrepreneur, I’ve come to realise that both roles demand the same core qualities—patience, intuition, resilience, and the ability to lead with heart. My journey with The Sound Space began with a simple, heartfelt belief: that music has the power to shape how we feel, how we learn, and how we connect with ourselves and with one another.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of watching this belief come alive in classrooms, community spaces, and living rooms—through programs that use music not just for performance, but for healing, expression, education, and joy. Whether it’s toddlers discovering rhythm, school children learning mindfulness through sound, or teenagers reconnecting with their inner voice, music becomes a safe, sacred space.

Being a mother has deeply influenced the way I create and lead. It grounds me in empathy. It reminds me that the smallest moments—often unnoticed—carry the greatest power. I’ve built our programs not only as an educator, but as a mother watching a child make sense of the world. That perspective has helped us keep our work gentle, real, and rooted in experience rather than perfection.

One of the things I’m most proud of is our work with young children and parents—creating experiences where they can engage with each other through music, story, and shared presence. Our workshops are not just about musical notes; they are about emotional notes too—of safety, freedom, and fun.

I believe we need more stories of women, especially mothers, created from a place of deep care and consciousness. Because those are the stories that quietly change the world.”

Rucchii Suri, HR & Finance Head at Merrakii, says, “My journey has been a vibrant blend of professional ambition and personal devotion. Along the way, I became a certified POSH trainer and a passionate professional corporate worker for Diversity & Inclusion because a truly successful workplace is one where every voice is heard, valued, and empowered.

But perhaps the most transformative role I’ve embraced is that of being a mother. Each day is a balancing act of school runs and client calls, bedtime stories and boardroom strategies. It’s not always easy, but it’s deeply fulfilling. I’ve learned that resilience is not about doing everything perfectly, but showing up with love, purpose, and strength both at work and at home.

To all the incredible mothers navigating careers and caregiving, know that you are not alone. Your ambition and affection, your dreams and your daily routines, are building a legacy your children will be proud of. You don’t have to choose between success and motherhood. You can thrive both beautifully, powerfully, and unapologetically.”

Each of these women has harnessed the power of motherhood as a force for good, turning personal challenges into meaningful ventures that uplift others. Whether it’s championing sustainability, empowering communities, or spreading the joy of music, their efforts underscore the idea that motherhood and leadership are not mutually exclusive but mutually enriching.

This Mother’s Day, let us celebrate not just the care these women give at home, but also the courage they bring into boardrooms, classrooms, and creative studios. They remind us that when mothers lead with purpose, they don’t just raise children—they raise entire communities and cultures.
