The Uttar Pradesh government is planning to start the ambitious ‘AI Pragya’ campaign, which aims to train 10 lakh citizens in cutting-edge technologies like artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, data analytics, and cybersecurity in an effort to increase digital literacy and improve the skills of the state’s youth.

Participants in the programme, which will be available both online and offline, will get training before earning their certification. Later this month, the Chief Minister is anticipated to launch the campaign. The programme is overseen by the State Information Technology and Electronics Department’s Centre for e-Governance (CEG), and District Magistrates will keep a close eye on it at the district level to make sure it runs well.

Collaboration with important government agencies, such as Education, Health, Agriculture, Rural Development, Revenue, and Secretariat Administration, will be a component of the ‘AI Pragya’ initiative. Particular attention will be paid to rural regions, where digital technology training will be provided to farmers, students, teachers, women in self-help organisations, village leaders, and operators of public service centres.

The training will be led by professionals from well-known international corporations including Microsoft, Intel, HCL, Amazon, Google, and the Wadhwani Foundation. The government order for the programme was issued on April 24. It is anticipated that the programme would greatly improve participants’ employability by giving them the skills required for the digital economy.
