Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have made public statements expressing their unequivocal backing of the Armed Forces of India during Operation Sindoor. The statements made by the two men came in the wake of escalating tensions between India and Pakistan that resulted in the IPL 2025 being temporarily postponed for 1 Week as the IPL Governing Council, which released a statement over the last 48 hours indicating the situation was considered when negotiating the series of attacks around multiple cities in India that had begun on the Pakistani city of Lahore.
Rohit posted a message on X (formerly Twitter) that he is proud of the Armed Forces of India and states it is important for people to act responsibly and avoid publishing false news content. Virat commented on the statement on Instagram, in agreement with and in support of Rohit and as the Armed Forces.
58 out of 69 IPL 2025 matches have been played as of now. The match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals in Dharamsala on Thursday was also abandoned in the second innings as a technical failure devastated the fans, as was also occurring at the same time the international attacks were happening in the border from Pakistan.
