India targets Noor Khan airbase in Rawalpindi, marking dangerous escalation in conflict

India reportedly targeted the Noor Khan airbase in Rawalpindi, located near Pakistan Army’s General Headquarters in Chaklala, marking a dangerous escalation in the ongoing conflict between the two countries. Multiple explosions were heard in Rawalpindi and Lahore on Friday night, with two blasts reported near the Noor Khan Airbase.

Police have cordoned off the area, and rescue teams have arrived at the site. A top intelligence source speaking to India-based media outlet News18 confirmed that a missile struck the Pakistani military airbase at Noor Khan, Rawalpindi..

Pakistan’s military confirms strikes, says ‘wait for our response’

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s military on early Saturday said three of its air bases had been attacked by Indian missiles, including one on the outskirts of the capital Islamabad near the army headquarters.

“India, with its naked aggression, has attacked with missiles. Noor Khan base, Murid base, and Shorkot base have been targeted,” military spokesman Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said during a live broadcast on state television. “Now you just wait for our response,” he warned India.

The Noor Khan airbase in Rawalpindi, where Pakistan’s military headquarters is situated, is located about 10 kilometers from the capital Islamabad.
