BRS MLC K Kavitha called on the government to exercise prudence and postpone the beauty contest on Friday, stating that it would convey the wrong message to stage it in a warlike setting.

She led the Telangana Jagruti in a sizeable demonstration at Indira Park in favour of “Operation Sindoor”. Kavitha urged the authorities to put the contest on hold. “Holding beauty pageants during a period of war in the nation is inappropriate.” Like the IPL, which was halted after the heightened tensions, she proposed that the pageant be postponed as well. “Now is the time to be wise and not send out false signals,” Kavitha stated.

She honoured the image of Murali Naik, the valiant soldier who was killed in Pakistani strikes while on duty along the border. Kavitha gave the Army credit for Operation Sindoor’s effective destruction of nine terrorist sites in Pakistan. “The rally was held to instil courage and determination in them; the army provides us with protection,” she stated. Kavitha called for similar protests in all districts, saying, “The Army has retaliated strongly against attacks targeting airports in the country by Pakistan.”

“This is a righteous war,” said the BRS chief. India never makes a mistake. We are battling honourably and justly. We said nothing to the average Pakistani citizen. “All we did was destroy terrorist camps,” she said.
