Jammu: The Border Security Force (BSF) has verified the total destruction of a terrorist launch pad at Looni in Pakistan’s Sialkot district, across from the Akhnoor region of Jammu, in a resolute retaliation for unprovoked shooting by Pakistan Rangers on Friday night.
Beginning at around 9 p.m. on Friday, the ceasefire breach prompted a deliberate reaction, which included the attack.
BSF stated in a statement released on Saturday that “the terrorist launch pad at Looni was completely destroyed,” highlighting the force’s dedication to eliminating cross-border threats.
Even though Indian soldiers are still on high alert to protect the country’s security and sovereignty, this development represents a substantial increase in tensions at the International Boundary.
Pakistan began shooting unprovokedly on BSF installations in the Jammu Sector on May 9 at about 2100 hours. The Pakistan Rangers’ installations and property along the International Boundary were severely damaged as a result of the BSF’s proportionate response. The BSF totally demolished the terrorist launch pad in Looni, Sialkot district, which is across from the Akhnoor region. “We remain steadfast in our commitment to safeguarding India’s sovereignty,” the BSF said in the statement. Officials said there have been no reports of injuries on the Indian side so far.
In a massive security operation along the India-Pakistan border earlier Friday, the BSF also neutralised seven terrorists and stopped a major infiltration attempt in the Jammu frontier’s Samba Sector.
The BSF claims that early on Friday, a sizable number of terrorists tried to enter Indian territory while being protected by Pakistan Rangers from the Dhandhar station. However, the BSF’s sophisticated monitoring grid quickly identified the effort.
“Alert BSF soldiers acted quickly and attacked the infiltrators in a heavy firefight. At least seven militants were killed in the ensuing shootout, the BSF had said on Friday. Furthermore, the Dhandhar station sustained significant damage as a result of the BSF’s retaliatory attack.
A Hand-Held Thermal Imager (HHTI) film depicting the devastation of Pakistan’s Post Dhandhar was also released by the BSF, which is tasked with protecting the 3,323-kilometer India-Pakistan border.
According to the sources who spoke to the media report, India promptly began the retaliatory attacks after Pakistan targeted 26 places around India on Saturday. Several locations along the Line of Control (LoC) continue to see intermittent fire.
As tensions between the two nations continue to rise, senior government sources said that Indian attacks in the early hours of Saturday had targeted at least four Pakistani airbases.
