The Pakistan Cricket Board's (PCB) hopes of organizing the remaining matches of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) may be dashed. The Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) is concerned about the growing tension between India and Pakistan. The PCB had announced on Friday that the remaining PSL matches would be played in the UAE. However, now the news has come that Pakistan's hopes of organizing PSL may be dashed.
The final eight matches will now be played in the UAE.
The PCB said on Friday that the final eight matches will now be played in the UAE. Earlier, these matches were to be played in Rawalpindi, Multan, and Lahore. The statement said that the date, time, and grounds of the matches will be shared when the time comes.
The ECB may reject the proposal.
News agency ANI quoted an ECB source as saying - The UAE has a diverse population of South Asians who enjoy cricket. Hosting a tournament like the PSL amid such tense circumstances can spoil harmony, create security risks and create unnecessary tension between communities.
Foreign players want to leave the league
Earlier on Thursday, the PCB canceled the scheduled match between Peshawar Zalmi and Karachi Kings at the Rawalpindi Stadium. Reports in the British media said that English players participating in the league are considering leaving it due to security concerns.
